Repetition

Preparing to Pray

2.  Speak to the Lord, telling him that you are dedicating the next fifteen minutes to be with Him.

3.  Ask for the grace you desire:

4.  Consider the following points:

At various points in the Spiritual Exercises, St. Ignatius recommended that a person making a retreat pause and go back to a previous prayer period that seemed very “fruitful.” He called it a “repetition.” The idea is that we should not try to move on too quickly from our consoling moments of prayer; rather, we should return to them and savor them. God might have more to say! So, for today’s prayer, we want to invite you to look back on the last ten days and repeat a meditation that you found particularly helpful or powerful.

Prayer

Scripture:

Review your prayer

Take a few minutes to reflect on and journal about the following:

... or else write down any moments of consolation or desolation you encountered in your prayer.

Speak with the Lord, as one friend to another, about whatever came up in your prayer.

End with an Our Father or a Hail Mary.
