You search me and know me

Preparing to Pray

1.  Take three deep breaths, allowing yourself to be fully present.

2.  Speak to the Lord, telling him that you are dedicating the next fifteen minutes to be with Him.

3.  Ask for the grace you desire:

I want the gift of trust and confidence in God. I want to be able to trust God in my heart.

4.  Consider the following points:

Psalm 139 is a prayer written by King David in which he describes God's expansiveness, including the moment God knit him "together in my mother's womb." Can I list eight special moments from my life, when I felt God's presence?

Prayer

Scripture:

Psalm 139:1-18

Review your prayer

Take a few minutes to reflect on and journal about the following:

Why did I choose these eight particular moments from my life? Why are they special?

... or else write down any moments of consolation or desolation you encountered in your prayer.

Speak with the Lord, as one friend to another, about whatever came up in your prayer.

End with an Our Father or a Hail Mary.
